COMMITMENT TO LIVE AS DISCIPLES OF CHRIST

At Holy Communion on the first Sunday of this new year we were invited to consider the following personal statement of Christian commitment, adapted from vows said by the people of Wimborne Minster, Dorset, during their 1300th anniversary.

I commit myself to live this year as a disciple of jesus Christ guided by the Holy Spirit to the glory of God the Father. I promise to

  • Pray daily
  • Read the Bible regularly
  • Attend public worship faithfully
  • Take housegroup membership seriously
  • Commend the Christian faith by word and deed
  • Fashion my life according to the example of Christ
  • Give and forgive as generously as God has given to and forgiven me
  • Promote Christian unity
