The stone rolled away!

One Saturday during the summer a group from St Thomas' carried out a clean up of the old church graveyard. Cans and bottles that were strewn about were bagged up and
disposed of, and flagged areas and the areas between the graves were made accessible. The main problem was the overgrown newly opened section. This jungle had to be cleared with a machete, garden shears and the easier parts with a
strimmer. This was taken to the composting area. A large pile of rockery stones was also unearthed. It was a hard days work! Just before we had our picnic lunch, a huge stone was uncovered. It was sunken deep into the ground, and no matter what
everyone did, we just couldn't move it. We tried absolutely
everything. Danny, Simon and a mate who doesn't come to St Thomas' on a Sunday all strenuously worked together to try to move it even an inch - to no avail. I looked up, and there was Gerry in his huge boiler suit. 'Right' he said, 'let's pray about this', and promptly did. The lads gave a last attempt, and it
almost jumped out! The faces of the lads were a picture! The mate couldn't believe what had happened, they had struggled for so long! God used a day of fellowship and hard work to witness to this young man, showing him that with Him all things are
possible. What a day! We all went away satisfied with what had been achieved, and not only that, everyone made it to church the following day!
